Frequently Asked Questions
This recipe can be made with either fresh or frozen shrimp. If you use frozen shrimp, you will want to defrost it completely before continuing with the recipe.
These shrimp will taste best and be the crispiest when served just after air frying, so I wouldn’t recommend cooking them in advance. That being said, you could coat the shrimp and store them on a tray in the fridge for several hours and air fry them just before serving.
For these jumbo air fryer fried shrimp, we recommend you cook these for 5 minutes per side. You can reduce the time to 4 minutes per side for smaller shrimp. Take care not to overcook your shrimp as they will become chewy and rubbery.
These shrimp taste best when served right away. Leftover shrimp can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat shrimp, place them in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes or until warmed through. You can microwave shrimp, but they will become rubbery.
Once coated, place the shrimp onto a baking sheet in the freezer for a few hours. Toss the frozen shrimp into a freezer bag and store for up to 3 months. Cook directly from frozen as directed, adding a few minutes to the cooking time.
These crispy air fryer shrimp are perfect as an appetizer with sweet chili sauce or your favorite dip. To make it a meal, serve them with Air Fryer French Fries, Greek Orzo Salad or Zucchini Fritters.
