  • Cook – Air fry the wings for 25 mins at 360 F, flipping then halfway through.

Recipe notes and tips

  • Make sure to coat in lemon juice before adding the spices, that way the spices will stick.
  • Use a preheated air fryer.
  • You can omit the hot sauce from the dip, if you want things milder.
  • I used Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce – so good!

  • Don’t overcrowd your basket. Make sure you spread your wings on one layer, don’t overlap them. If you have a smaller air fryer you can cook in batches.
  • If using frozen chicken wings, you’ll need to thaw them first.
  • Be sure to flip foods over halfway through the cooking time, this ensure even crispness.
  • Clean the drawer as well as the basket in the air fryer after every use.

FAQ’s

What to serve with this Air Fryer Chicken Wing recipe

These chicken wings make for a great game day snack as well as part of main meal. There’s lots of sides that marry up well with this recipe, here’s some ideas:

  • Mexican Street Corn Salad
  • Parmesan Herbed Potatoes
  • Spicy Cilantro Hassleback Potatoes
  • Buffalo Cauliflower Wings
  • Best Grilled Vegetables
  • Strawberry Spinach Salad with Feta
  • Easy Mashed Potatoes

Can I make this Air Fryer Chicken recipe in the oven?

It takes a fair bit longer to achieve crispy chicken wings in the oven. To bake these chicken wings in a conventional oven, preheat oven to 400˚F then bake on a baking rack for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until crispy, flip the wings after 30 minutes.

What are the best wings to use?

Ideally go for organic chicken. For ease it’s best to choose chicken wings that are already broken down into wingettes and drumettes. You can, of course, buy whole chicken wings but you’ll have to break them down into the wingettes and drumettes, this keeps the cook time down and ensures even cooking, especially in a smaller air fryer.

      Hi Wynne,
In the recipe card it states preheat air fryer at 360 F. I added it to the copy too so it’s clear to everyone.
