Ingredients You’ll Need

Recipe Tips

  • Slice Evenly: Make sure to cut your potatoes into even-sized pieces to ensure even cooking.
  • Don’t Overcrowd: Avoid overloading the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation and ensure crispiness.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheating helps the potatoes start cooking immediately, leading to a crispier result.
  • Shake the Basket: To promote even cooking, give the basket a shake every 5-7 minutes.
  • Serve Immediately: These potatoes are at their crispiest right out of the air fryer, so enjoy them while they’re hot.

Air Fryer Potatoes Variations

  • Make it spicy: Add in some cayenne powder or red chili flakes to your seasoning to give your potatoes a spicier kick.
  • Make it herby: add in additional dried or fresh herbs of your choice to the seasoning.
  • Make this garlicky: add in some fresh minced garlic.
  • Potatoes: swap russet potatoes for red potatoes or Yukon gold potatoes (small ones work).
  • Oven bake: If you don’t have an air fryer, preheat your oven to 400 F, bake for 30-40 minutes or until crispy and golden brown. Toss at least once half way through.

Storing and Reheating

Storing: Refrigerate leftover air fryer potatoes in airtight containers for 3 to 5 days.

Reheating: To reheat these potatoes, you can throw them in the air fryer at any time and reheat for a few minutes. You can also reheat them in the microwave for a minute or so depending on the amount. Note that for best result, the air fryer would have better results since it also refries the outer part of the potatoes when you reheat.

Freezing: You can freeze these potatoes after they have completely thawed and then reheat in the air fryer when ready to serve.

What to Serve with Air Fryer Potatoes?

You can serve almost anything with air fried potatoes. Here are some of my favorite recipes to serve this recipe with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to peel my potatoes?

That’s up to you! As long as you give your potatoes a good scrub, you can skip peeling your potatoes before air frying them. Just be sure to make sure the potatoes are dried before cooking them as it could cause them to steam in the air fryer if they have water on them.

Which potatoes are best for the air fryer?

I recommend using russet potatoes, Yukon gold, red potatoes or any kind of baby potatoes.

Why are my air fryer potatoes not crispy?

You may have left some moisture on the potatoes before air frying. Be sure to dry the potatoes really well before adding oil and seasoning. Also, potatoes differ from one another.

Can I make these potatoes ahead of time?

While they are best served fresh out of the air fryer, you can keep them warm in a low oven or briefly reheat them in the air fryer. Another recommendation is, you can par-boil the potatoes ahead of time for 5 minutes and when it’s time to cook them, season and air fry. This will cut back at least 10 minutes of the cook time.

This recipe turned out amazing 😋 I decided to add a lil smoked paprika to it as well instead of all regular paprika.I also used golden potatoes instead of russets and used avocado oil instead of extra virgin Olive oil. I also ground up the seasonings all together before sprinkling on oiled up potatoes. ❤️
