  • Seasoning: Combine paprika, onion powder, salt and ground pepper for flavor or use your favorite blend of herbs and spices. 
  • Eggs: whisk room temperature eggs to dip the onions. 
  • Panko Bread Crumbs: Pulse in a food processor, so they aren’t such big chunks. 

How To Make Baked Onion Rings

  • Prepare the equipment. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.

  • Slice the onion rings. Wash and peel the skin of the onions. Cut the onion into ½-inch thick slices and separate the inner parts and discard the smaller inner parts. Set it aside.

  • Prepare the dredging stations. In a breading pan, combine flour, paprika, onion powder, salt, and ground pepper. In the second breading pan, whisk the eggs. In the third breading pan, place panko bread crumbs and keep them ready.
  • Coat the onion rings. Dredge the onion rings in the flour mixture, then the egg and then the breadcrumbs and coat the onion rings evenly. Repeat the same with the remaining onion rings.
