  • Limes: zest and juice fresh limes for maximum flavor and garnish with additional lime wedges
  • Honey: local raw honey usually has the best flavor and isn’t mixed with corn syrup. You can also use real maple syrup.
  • Herbs and Spices: fresh parsley, minced fresh garlic, salt, paprika, crushed red pepper flakes and ground black pepper season the shrimp.
  • Shrimp: purchase jumbo shrimp that has been peeled and deveined but has the tail on.

How To Make Shrimp Kabobs

  • Prepare the marinade. In a small bowl, whisk together the ingredients to marinate; olive oil, lime juice, honey, parsley, garlic, lime zest, salt, paprika, red pepper, and black pepper.
  • Marinate the shrimp. Pour the marinade over the shrimp and toss until well coated. Reserve 2 tablespoons of marinade to brush later. Allow the shrimp to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  • Skewer the shrimp. Thread the shrimps on a wooden or metal skewer until the end of the skewers.
  • Grill the shrimp. Place the shrimp skewers on the griddle or grill pan and cook for 4-5 minutes until the shrimp is cooked through, turning the skewers often.
  • Garnish and Serve. Once done, brush the reserved marinade over the skewers and garnish the shrimp skewers with parsley and lime wedges before servings.

  • Purchase fresh shrimp or completely thaw frozen shrimp. 
  • Look for jumbo shrimp that has been peeled and deveined but still has the tails on. 
  • If using wooded skewers, soak them for at least 30 minutes and up to overnight. 
  • Marinate the shrimp for at least 30 minutes but no more than a few hours as the shrimp can become mushy. 
  • Place the shrimp in the fridge while it’s marinating.
  • Shrimp cooks quickly, so don’t walk away once you add it to the grill. 
  • Overcooking shrimp can make it tough and dry. Remove the shrimp from the grill as soon as it has cooked through.

Ingredients 

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1.5 lb jumbo shrimp, peeled & deveined, tail-ON
  • Lime wedges, to garnish
