For the Chicken 

  • Chicken:  Cut chicken breasts into bite-size pieces. You can also use chicken tenderloins or boneless, skinless chicken thighs. 
  • Seasonings: Combine paprika, salt, garlic powder and black pepper to season the chicken. 
  • Dredge: Coat the chicken in milk and eggs and dredge with all-purpose flour for a crispy coating. You can substitute corn starch or 1-to-1 gluten free flour if desired. 

For the BBQ Sauce

  • BBQ sauce: Select your favorite brand of barbecue sauce. 
  • Ketchup: Use regular or low sugar ketchup.
  • Honey: Honey helps to thicken and sweeten the sauce. Substitute real maple syrup if desired. 
  • Chopped Parsley: to garnish. 

How To Make BBQ Chicken Bites

  • Prepare the equipment. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a parchment over a baking sheet and keep it aside.

  • Season the chicken. Season the chicken pieces with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix it well and set it aside.

  • Dredge the chicken. In a medium bowl, place the flour, and in another bowl, whisk the eggs with milk and keep it aside. Dredge the chicken pieces first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and then back to the flour until well coated.

  • Bake the chicken. Arrange the chicken pieces on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and slightly golden by flipping the chicken halfway through.

  • Prepare the sauce. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, prepare the sauce by combining BBQ sauce, ketchup and honey. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  • Cut the chicken into similar-sized bites for even cooking. 
  • Dredge in the flour before AND after using the egg mixture. This will help to develop a nice crust. 
  • Use cornstarch or 1-to-1 flour instead of wheat flour for a gluten free option. 
  • Easily alter the flavor of this recipe by selecting a different BBQ sauce. 
  • Substitute the honey with real maple syrup. 
  • Cook the chicken to a minimum temperature of 165 degrees F when checked with a meat thermometer.
