Frequently Asked Questions
You can use whatever chicken you have to hand, but be aware you might have to slightly adjust the cooking time. Chicken breasts and chicken thighs work well with this recipe as well. Just be sure to cut them evenly.
The best way to know when your chicken is done is to use a meat thermometer. Simply insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the chicken, when it reads 165F it’s done.
Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in an airtight container in the fridge. Be sure to let the chicken cool to room temperature before storing it as it will get soggy from condensation if it’s still warm.
These chicken bites are great with rice, quinoa, salad, mashed potatoes, or even some noodles. They are very versatile and goes with pretty much everything.
Cremini mushrooms are simply the brown version of the common white cultivated mushroom. You can also think of them as older than the white mushroom. The smaller, white button mushroom is the youngest variety, and the larger, Portobello mushrooms are older.
Absolutely. Although, the flavor of the Portobello mushroom will be bolder than the cremini mushroom.
Garlic Butter Chicken Variations
- Proteins: You can use different cuts of chicken like chicken breast or tenderloins. For red meat, use ribeye cubed steak. If you are looking for seafood options, I recommend using some jumbo sized shrimp or salmon cubes.

- Herbs: Amp up the flavor by adding different fresh or dry herbs into the recipe. You can also use premade spices you like.
