This Grilled Chili Lime Shrimp is one of my favorite shrimp recipes I make for my family. It’s so flavorful and delicious, not to mention super easy. You can always marinate them ahead of time and grill whenever you are ready for them.
WHAT IS GRILLED CHILI LIME SHRIMP
This recipe is as easy as just marinating the shrimp and then grilling them on skewers. I love skewer recipes. Not only do they turn out perfect every time, but there are so many ways you can make them.
AN EASY MEAL-PREP IDEA
This Chili Lime Shrimp recipe can also be meal prepped. It’s high in protein and low in carbs, which is the ideal lunch for busy days. The shrimp tastes just as delicious cold as it does hot off the grill.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH GRILLED SHRIMP
You can serve with a low cab side option like veggies or even some healthy carbs like quinoa, sweet potatoes, and brown rice. I really like having it with sweet potatoes.
HOW TO MAKE GRILLED CHILI LIME SHRIMP
There are two parts to this recipe – marinating the shrimp and grilling them. It’s that easy!
Shrimp – Use your favorite kind of shrimp. I like frozen jump shrimp.
Garlic – You’ll use both fresh garlic and garlic powder for a really nice kick!
Paprika – This gives it a smoky flavor.
Garlic Powder – Don’t skip the garlic powder. It has the right amount of spice and flavor
Cumin – Cumin is excellent on seafood and pork.
Chili Powder – If you don’t have chili powder, you can use a combination of onion powder and cayenne pepper.
Lime Juice – I prefer fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
Olive Oil – You can use canola or avocado oil if you prefer.
First you thaw the shrimps. I like using raw shrimps most of the time everything I cook. You can use the cooked ones if you like though. You will just have to adjust the cooking time. You marinate the shrimps and can either cook right away or marinate them for 30-24 hours in advance. I am usually in a hurry so I just marinate them for about 15 minutes while I prepare the side dish.
Assemble the shrimp on the skewers. I love these skewers because they are shorter and more durable when you are using an outdoor grill. I got these skewers from Lowes, but you can also find them online at Walmart.com. I have ordered them there before as well. You will love these skewers!
I grilled the shrimp skewers on an indoor grill I use a lot. It’s by DeLonghi and it’s been a few years since I have had it. But you can use a griddle as well to grill them if you don’t have an indoor grill or just broil them in your oven. I usually grill them for about 5 minutes on each side.
This recipe is super easy to make and you can always prepare it ahead and grilled them for dinner after work or simply at any time you are wanting to serve a meal for your family. If you live in a warmer place, they taste even better if you grill them outside on a charcoal grill. If you usually invite friends over, this recipe will keep them super happy, leaving you with lots of compliments on your cooking skills.
