Frequently asked questions

Which vegetables to use in this salad

This is all based on your personal preference. You can take out what you don’t like and add other options in that you prefer. I like preparing this salad with a bed of mixed greens or just baby arugula and baby spinach. Whatever you prefer.

You can use regular romaine lettuce if you do not have any mixed greens. Other ingredients I love including in this salad are chunks of boiled corn, thinly sliced purple onions, cherry tomatoes, sliced baby radishes and avocadoes.

Is this salad kid friendly?

Even though this is a spicy salad recipe, you can always omit the cayenne pepper from the recipe to make it non-spicy for a kid friendly option.

What’s the best dressing for this salad?

For the dressing, you can make any dressing you like. The great thing about the combination of ingredients used in this recipe is that it goes with any dressing you choose to use. I love preparing an easy mayo dressing at home. It’s made with olive oil, light mayo, salt, lemon juice and garlic.

You can use your choice of Italian parsley or cilantro to go with the dressing. I use a few leaves of Italian parsley with mine when I process it. Pour the dressing over your salad and enjoy it!

        @ Sofia –

I just made this salad and I opted not to marinate the salmon. Instead, I seasoned both sides and let rest while I made the rest of the salad. Then I used avocado oil in the pan for searing the fish. It was delicious!

      3. Hi Sofia,
