Why this Spicy Salmon Salad Recipe is so good!

  • A hearty and healthy salad. Protein rich salmon mingled with loads of fresh veggies, it’s filling, low carb, nutritious and delicious!
  • Easy summer salad. This comes together in 20 mins, with a few key ingredients, perfect for BBQ’s.
  • A delicious spicy marinade. The salmon is coated in garlic, cayenne, paprika and a host of other wonderful seasonings – so good!

Ingredients you’ll need

  • Salmon
  • Marinade: cayenne, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, olive oil.
  • Veggies: Arugula, spinach, radish, onion, avocados, tomatoes, corn.
  • Dressing: Light mayo, olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, garlic.

How to make this Salmon Salad Recipe

  • Marinate the salmon and then pan sear them until fully cooked. Cover and set aside.
  • Prepare the salad ingredients and lay on a platter, spreading ingredients around evenly.
  • Add in pieces of the salmon to the salad. Prepare the dressing in a small food processor or by hand and pour the dressing over the salad.
  • Serve and enjoy!

First, I marinate and pan sear the salmon until they are completely cooked. It may take anywhere from 7-12 minutes depending on the thickness of your salmon pieces. I then wrap the pan with aluminum foil to preserve the heat and moisture while I assemble the salad.

Frequently asked questions

Which vegetables to use in this salad

This is all based on your personal preference. You can take out what you don’t like and add other options in that you prefer. I like preparing this salad with a bed of mixed greens or just baby arugula and baby spinach. Whatever you prefer.

You can use regular romaine lettuce if you do not have any mixed greens. Other ingredients I love including in this salad are chunks of boiled corn, thinly sliced purple onions, cherry tomatoes, sliced baby radishes and avocadoes.

Is this salad kid friendly?

Even though this is a spicy salad recipe, you can always omit the cayenne pepper from the recipe to make it non-spicy for a kid friendly option.

What’s the best dressing for this salad?

For the dressing, you can make any dressing you like. The great thing about the combination of ingredients used in this recipe is that it goes with any dressing you choose to use. I love preparing an easy mayo dressing at home. It’s made with olive oil, light mayo, salt, lemon juice and garlic.

You can use your choice of Italian parsley or cilantro to go with the dressing. I use a few leaves of Italian parsley with mine when I process it. Pour the dressing over your salad and enjoy it!

        @ Sofia –

I just made this salad and I opted not to marinate the salmon. Instead, I seasoned both sides and let rest while I made the rest of the salad. Then I used avocado oil in the pan for searing the fish. It was delicious!
