Step 2: Prepare the potatoes. Slice the potatoes into rounds with ¼ inch thickness and transfer them to a medium bowl.

Step 3: Season the spuds. Pour in the olive oil along with the seasonings—garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt. Mix well until everything comes together.

Step 4: Cook in the air fryer. Transfer the potatoes to the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 20-22 minutes until golden and crispy. (Flip the potatoes in the middle of cooking to the other side.)

Step 5: Garnish and serve. Once done, garnish the potatoes with chopped parsley and serve while they’re still warm.

Tips To Make This Crispy Potatoes Recipe

  • Soaking: It’s recommened to soak the cut potatoes in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This aids in a crispier exterior.
  • Even Slicing: Aim for consistent thickness to ensure uniform cooking.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Allow the air fryer to preheat before adding the potatoes. This helps in achieving an even and crisp texture.
  • Avoid Overcrowding: Arrange the slices in a single layer for the best results. This allows sufficient space for air circulation. Overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking.

What to Serve with Air Fryer Potatoes

This dish is so versatile and can be served as a stand alone snack with your favorite dips or as a side to your favorite main dishes. We suggest serving with Oven Chicken Skewers, Baked BBQ Boneless Chicken Thighs, Gluten Free Fish and Chips or BBQ Pulled Chicken Burger.

Storing and Reheating

Storing: Store leftover air-fried crispy potatoes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to maintain their texture and flavor.

Reheating: To restore crispiness, reheat in the air fryer at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for a few minutes, or use an oven for a similar result. Avoid the microwave to prevent sogginess.

Freezing: While freezing can affect texture, you can freeze air-fried potatoes in a single layer, then transfer to a sealed bag. Reheat in the air fryer or oven straight from frozen for best results.

Alternative Cooking Methods

Oven Roasting: Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Toss potato pieces with oil and seasonings. Spread them on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for 30-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

Pan Frying: Heat a skillet with oil over medium-high heat. Add the potato pieces in a single layer. Fry until golden brown, flipping occasionally for even cooking.

Deep Frying: Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350-375 degrees Fahrenheit. Fry potato pieces until golden brown and crispy.
