Frequently Asked Questions

Can you skip peeling the sweet potatoes ?

The texture of the skin doesn’t really mesh well with the rest of the dish, so I highly recommend you peel the potatoes.

How do I store leftover sweet potato casserole?

Wrap any leftovers tightly in plastic wrap or transfer them to an airtight container. Leftovers will last for up to 5 days. Simply reheat in the microwave or oven when ready to enjoy again.

Can you freeze sweet potato casserole bake?

I do not recommend freezing this dish because the texture of the pecans will come out completely mushy.

You can totally prepare this sweet potato casserole in advance. I’d do it within one to two days in advance. Cover with foil wrap and store in the fridge until ready to bake. Remove the casserole 30 minutes from the fridge before baking.
