Salmon Sushi Ingredients

Ingredients needed for making spicy salmon sushi roll.
  • Sushi rice: Adding rice vinegar and sugar takes short grain white rice from plain rice to sushi rice. Short grain white rice is stickier than long grain white rice because it has only one type of starch as opposed to two. Keep that in mind when making substitutions.
  • Nori sheets: These are the seaweed wraps that make for an authentic sushi roll. You may be able to swap in rice paper or butter lettuce instead.
  • Spicy sauce: Sriracha, mayo and lime juice make the sauce that takes this roll from mmm to mmm-hmmmm!!
  • Seafood: Skinless, lightly cooked salmon and imitation crab provide the protein for the roll. You can certainly use real crab if you prefer.
  • Additional filling: Avocado, cucumber and Furikake seasoning add authentic flavor and texture. Top with green onions for extra crunch.
