Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef 90/10
  • 1 small onion grated, drain excess liquid with towel or sieve
  • 2 tbsps. ketchup
  • 1 tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp. bbq sauce
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. black pepper fresh cracked
  • 2 tbsps. bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 burger buns

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill.
  • In a bowl, mix together the beef with all the other ingredients.
  • Divide into 3-4 equal parts, depending on how big or thick you want the patties to be. 3 is usually the perfect size.
  • Spray the grill with some oil spray and grill to desired doneness.
  • Serve in a bun with preferred toppings and your favorite side dish.

Notes

  • Don’t over mix or you’ll end up with dense burgers. Use your hands to mix the ingredients for the best results.
  • When grilling the burgers, don’t press down on them! It’ll squish out the juices.
  • Avoid using beef that is too lean as you need the fat in the meat to make juicy flavorful burgers.
  • Feel free to use a grill pan on the stovetop if you prefer.
  • You want to shape the hamburger patties to be slightly larger than the buns you buy as they’ll shrink a bit in when cooked.
  • To check for doneness, insert an instant read thermometer through the side of a burger into the center. The internal temperature should be about 145°F to 160°F.
  • Try using pretzel buns or brioche buns to change things up!
