Lemon Pepper Honey Wings

A zingy combination of lemon pepper seasoning, lemon juice and honey make the perfect sauce for these light and crispy baked chicken wings.

Ingredients

For chicken

  • 2 lb chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

For lemon pepper sauce

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasonings
  • Chopped parsley to garnish
  • Lemon wedges to serve

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and place a rack on top. Set aside.
  • Pat dry the chicken wings with a kitchen towel and transfer them to a large bowl.
  • Sprinkle the spices over the chicken wings: lemon pepper seasoning, baking soda, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add cornstarch and coat the chicken wings thoroughly. Arrange the chicken wings on the rack placed on the baking tray. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the wings are crispy and golden.
  • While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce: heat a skillet with butter over medium flame. Once melted, add the honey, lemon juice, parsley, and lemon pepper seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and add the baked chicken wings. Toss until the wings are evenly coated with the sauce.
  • Transfer the lemon pepper wings to a serving platter, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Pat Dry the Wings: Ensure the wings are thoroughly dried with paper towels before seasoning to achieve maximum crispiness.
  • Preheat the Oven: Make sure the oven is fully preheated to the right temperature for consistent results.
  • Toss in Sauce Last: Add the lemon pepper honey sauce after baking to keep the wings crispy.
