Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: American
Servings: 2 servings
- 1 large kale bunch
- 2 tbsps. olive oil
- 1 tsps. ranch seasoning per preference
Preheat air fryer to 375 F.
Meanwhile, wash the kale and dry very well. Remove the back stem and cut the leaves in 3 inch pieces. The kale will shrink.
Transfer to a bowl and add the olive oil and seasoning. Massage the leaves with your hand to coat well.
Arrange the leaves in a single layer in the air fryer and air fry for 3-5 minutes. For in batches and shake the basket once half way through. Keep a close eye on them.
When done, remove and let them cool. Transfer to a bowl and serve to enjoy.
- It’s important to dry your kale completely. If you have a salad spinner, you should use it. If there’s water on the kale leaves, the oil won’t stick to the kale. Also the kale chips will steam in the air fryer instead of crisping up.
- Overcrowding your air fryer basket with kale chips won't allow them to crisp up properly. Air fry them in two batches if needed.
- Don’t skip removing the stems. They’re tough and not very pleasant to eat.
- Don’t add too much oil to the kale chips. If the kale chips are soaked in oil, they won’t crisp up very well.
