- 4 cod filets
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic minced
- 1 lemon sliced into rounds
- Chopped parsley to garnish
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Pat dry the cod filet with a kitchen towel and season the cod filets with pepper and salt. Keep it aside.
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, olive oil, Cajun seasoning, paprika, and garlic. Mix to combine.
Arrange the lemon slices in a 9X13 baking dish and place the cod filet on top.
Pour the prepared butter sauce over the filet and bake them for 12-15 minutes until they are cooked and look opaque.
Arrange the cod on a serving plate, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon slices.
- Purchase fresh fish when possible.
- If using frozen cod, thaw it thoroughly and dry it with paper towels before seasoning and baking.
- Storebought cajun seasoning mixes can be pretty salty. Use unsalted butter to prevent over-salting this dish.
- Line your baking dish with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.
- Don’t overcook the fish, or it can become tough.
