Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lb jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined, tails ON
  • 5-6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Salt or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red chili flakes
  • Lemon slices to garnish

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over a medium flame with olive oil. Once the oil is heated, add the shrimp and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic, Italian seasonings, smoked paprika, ground black pepper and salt and saute for a couple more minutes.
  • Stir in the butter, lemon juice, parsley and red chili flakes and simmer the shrimp for 1-2 minutes.
  • Garnish the shrimp with lemon slices and serve.

Notes

  • Purchase raw or raw frozen shrimp rather than precooked shrimp.
  • Buying already peeled shrimp will save you lots of time.
  • Jumbo shrimp are usually labeled as 21/25, which means there are usually 21-25 shrimp per pound.
  • Shrimp will curl slightly and turn opaque pink when fully cooked.
  • This recipe goes fast, and you do not want overcooked shrimp, so prep all of your ingredients in advance.
  • Use high quality butter, fresh lemon juice and fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • Don’t move the shrimp. Let them sit in the pan for a few minutes, then flip, rather than tossing or moving them around.
