Fish and chips are a favorite restaurant meal. Air fryer fish sticks are made with less oil and perfectly cooked in the air fryer without deep frying. You can enjoy these breaded fish and chips without guilt, and they will be golden and crunchy in just 15 minutes.
Pat dry the fish with a kitchen towel and set it aside.
Prepare the breading station: In the first bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk the egg in the second bowl, whisk the egg, and in the third bowl. Set it aside.
Dredge the fish steps in the flour mixture first and then into the egg mixture and, finally, the panko mixture and gently press it until evenly coated. Repeat the same with the remaining fish strips.
Spray each side of the fish strips with cooking spray and place the fish in a single layer on an air fryer basket. Air fry them for 10 - 12 minutes, flip them halfway through, and cook until the fish turns golden and crispy.
Once done, transfer the fish to a serving platter, garnish with parsley, and serve it with french fries and your favorite dip on the sides.
Notes
Cut the fish into strips of similar size for even cooking.
Pat dry with paper towels before dredging in flour.
Preheat the air fryer.
Shake off any excess breading.
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer. Cook in batches if necessary.
Flip the fish halfway through the cooking time.
Check for doneness and add additional time if needed.
Cooking times are an estimate and can vary depending on the thickness of the fish and your air fryer.
