1wholeHabanero pepperfinely chopped, optional to make it spicy
Instructions
Pre-heat air fryer to 400 degrees F.
Cut the potatoes into 1/4 inch thick fries. Rinse and pat dry.
In a bowl, coat the potatoes with olive oil, paprika and salt.
Line the air fryer basket with the fries, leaving space between the pieces. Do them in 2-3 batches so you don't over crowd the fryer.
Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown, shaking the basket half way through.
To prepare the sauce, sauté the diced onions with the olive oil until translucent, then add in the diced tomatoes and finely chopped habanero pepper. Sauté for a couple of minutes then add in the tomato paste and salt. Mix well and lower the heat to simmer. Cook for 8-10 minutes on low heat.
When both the sauce and fries are ready, serve together and enjoy.
Notes
Make sure to preheat the air fryer.
Be sure to cut your fries into similar sized slices.
Don't overcrowd the basket, cook in batches if needed.
Turn the fries halfway through cooking, for an even crispiness.
To check doneness you open up the air fryer and check near the end of the cook.
You can leave out the habanero from the sauce, if you want less heat.
