Lebanese Ghraybeh Shortbread Cookies

These Ghraybeh cookies are literally melt in your mouth cookies. Made with just 3 main ingredients, these cookies are to die for. These shortbread cookies are very popular in the Middle East.

What you need

all purpose flour

confectioner sugar

and more...

Make your dough


Mix the ghee, powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

Knead dough


Add flour and mix until combined. Knead the dough. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Form balls


Scoop dough to form into balls. Slightly press down just a bit to flatten it.



Press the middle softly with your thumb to form a small indent and add the piece of pistachio or jam on top.



Bake for 15 minutes. Cool and serve.

– Be sure to sift the dry ingredients to have the perfect texture for these cookies. – You can freeze them right after they cool down completely.
